Mbarara. The objectives of the study included; to determine how demand forecasting affects
staff development; to determine how supply forecasting affects staff development; to establish
how scenario planning affects staff development and to establish how action planning affects
staff development. Socio – culture was the considered as the intervening variable of the study
The study adopted a case study research design in which both qualitative and quantitative data
was collected from a sample of 25 employees using questionnaires.
The analysis was carried out using tables, charts, graphs, frequency distribution and correlation
coefficient. The study showed a general correlation of r= .075. However the social culture aspect
presented a significant and positive relationship on staff development.
In conclusion human resource planning should be used regularly and developed more in the
organization in order to motivate the employees hence also leading to staff development. This
can be achieved through educating the employees about the necessity of human resource
planning and also about its benefits to the organization. | en_US |
