dc.description.abstractThis study looked at the influence of entrepreneurship development skills on youth employment a case study of Kampala Central Division. Levels of entrepreneurship development; entrepreneurship programmes available in Kampala, the challenges that are faced in youth entrepreneurship, and the relationship between youth entrepreneurship and employment were specifically examined. The hypothesis of this study was that the level of youth entrepreneurship development has a significant relationship with the level of youth employment. Empirical data was collected from the youth in Kampala Central; the study had a population of 587,603 from which a sample size of 234 was determined. The empirical data was analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively to examine the relationship between the level of youth entrepreneurship development skills and that of employment in relation to the intervening factors. The key findings of this study indicate that although there was youth entrepreneurship development programs in Kampala Central Division, they were not effectively and efficiently implemented. Further findings of this study were that there was a significant relationship between the level of youth entrepreneurship development and the level of employment among the youth and it was recommended that the existing entrepreneurship development programs need to be strengthened efficiently and effectively implemented, the is need for the central government to further support the youth in Kampala in facilitating the entrepreneurship development programmes.en_US
