dc.description.abstractThis study was about the effect of non-monetary rewards on employee performance. The theoretical underpinning of this study was premised on Herzberg Two-factor theory of motivation which states that aspects of the work environment that satisfy employees are very different from aspects that dissatisfy them. The main objective of this study was to find out the effect that non-monetary rewards on employee performance while the specific objectives were: to find out the effect of training on employee performance; to find out how employee recognition affects employee performance and to find out how the work environment influence employee performance. The study population and sample size was 120 and 92 respondents respectively, the study was based mainly on Primary data inform of questionnaires, and interviews of the selected literature. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative techniques of data collection and data was analyzed using and percentage approaches with the help of SPSS version 16.0 computer program to draw conclusions and recommendations The findings revealed that, working environment and recognition at the work place all have positive effects on employee performance; the researcher therefore concludes that non-monetary rewards have a positive effect and role they play on the employee performance at Britannia Allied Industries. The study recommended that the management of Britannia Allied industries and other similar institutions should not undermine the contribution of non-monetary rewards on employee performance. For better performance, it is necessary that the training practices is revised by Britannia Allied industries management and other policy makers in order to attract competent employees and retain those in already in existence rather than losing them. The researcher recommends that similar organizations should take their employees for further studies and offer them objective training. The trainings should be followed by fair promotion and job enrichment, salary increment to stimulate higher employee performances. And Management also should ensure a continuous conducive working environment for its workers and also it should ensure that it consults employees when designing sure an environment.en_US
