dc.description.abstractThis research paper focuses on the influence of stress on employee performance. In different chapters, the researcher shows how elements of stress impact employee performance in any organization. Elements of stress such as workload, employee relationships and time pressure were reviewed against performance measures like task accomplishment, commitment and quality of output. The objective of the study was to establish the effect of stress on performance and in an effort to achieve this; a quantitative approach was used in the study to give results that could be reliable when viewed from quantitative point of view by use of questionnaires. From the study, it was found out that stress negatively influences employee performance at work. Therefore, elements of stress such as workload and employee relationships were found to have a significant negative effect on performance in terms of quality of output and commitment thus undesirable in any organizational settingen_US
