dc.description.abstractThe study was carried out to determine the effect of on-the job training on employee performance in profit making organization and the case study was Crown Beverage Company limited. On-the job training has not been assessed adequately, particularly in the Ugandan context for which the information available is scarce and unreliable.This study will make a meaningful addition to the wider body of knowledge regarding the extent to which on-the job training makes a positive contribution in organisations.The study objectives include: to find out the effect of job rotation on employee performance in profit making organisations,; to find out the effect of coaching on employee performance in profit making organisations; to establish the relationship between job training and employee performance in profit making organisations. Qualitative and quantitative techniques were used for collection, analysis and presentation of the data, with a sample size of 70 employees. Data was obtained mainly through questionnaires and document review. Out of the 70 questionnaires dispatched to Crown Beverage Company limited, 30 were returned fully answered. According to the findings, on-the job trainingproved to be beneficial to employees in terms of performance. The findings also point out the fact that on-the job training and performance have a clear positive relationship. The researcher therefore concluded that on-the job training plays a significant role in employee performance. It was recommended that the management of Crown Beverage Company and other similar companies should not underestimate the power of on the job training n employee performance.en_US
