    Abstract
The study was about examining factors affecting performance of salon businesses’ in Uganda, a case study of Sparkles salon. The research had three objectives: to evaluate how location affects performance of salon businesses, to examine how technology affects performance of salon businesses and to assess how employee motivation affects performance of salon businesses. A case design was used during the research where the researcher used both quantitative and qualitative approaches to better understanding of the research problem; the scope; justification, significance of the study as well as an illustration of the conceptual framework and a conclusion to the chapter. Chapter two is literature review that depicts the contribution of the different scholars to the subject and the development of my own conceptual framework. Each scholar gives more detail on each specific objective in relation to performance before a conclusion is made to the chapter. Chapter three discusses the research design to be used, the study population, sample size, techniques of analysis, the type and source of data, as well as the criteria for interpretation of the research findings. Chapter four is about the presentation and discussion of the data collected in relation to the research objectives. Chapter five brings out the summary, conclusions drawn and the recommendations made as well as suggestions for further research.
