Topic remuneration and employees performance
Abstract
The research report was commissioned to analyze the relationship between remuneration and
employees performance in St Suzan High School Mubende district as case study. The
research objectives were to determine types of remuneration provided to employees, to
determine the impact of rewards like salary, wages on employees’ performance, to test the
effect of fringe benefit like allowance on employees’ performance in St. Suzan High School
Mubende district.
Data was collected from respondents using questionnaires, interviews and observation,
sample size of 48 respondents were used, respondents constituted finance department,
teachers, casual workers, staff members. Sample size which was used was simple random
sampling.
Major findings established that type of remuneration given to employees in St. Suzan high
school Mubende district uganda were rewards like salary, fringe benefit like allowance for
example medical, insurance, transport, food and housing allowance, in addition to that
finding revealed that rewards like salary has positive effect on employees performance
whereby it influences performance in the organization, more so findings revealed that fringe
benefit like allowance has positive effect on employees performance whereby allowance
given reflects employees performance. 0n other hand employees who never received
allowance, this reduced their performance and low salary which was given to employees
affected them by reducing morale towards performance hence reducing performance in St
Suzan high school Mubende district
Conclusions were drawn basing on research findings from which it was concluded that types
of remuneration like rewards, fringe benefit used increase employees performance in the
school, it was found that rewards like salary, wage has positive impact on performance and
fringe befit like allowance has positive on employees performance, on other hand low salary
reduces employees performance.
Recommendation were made to increase employees performance, whereby it was
recommended that employers in St. Suzan High School should use other types of payment
like wages ,increase payments and pay workers in time.
