The research was intended to establish the impact of human resource policies and
performance of organizations a case study of Uganda Telecom Jinja branch
In the conceptual framework the objectives of the of the study were to investigate the effect
of employee compensation policy on organizational performance, to examine the role played
by training policy on organisational performance, to assess the role of performance appraisals
in the organisational performance in an organisation.
In my literature review I used two theories which included theory Z by Cole (1991) and
Maslow theory (1943) which talks about human needs. I also went ahead to review my
literature using written work of other scholars’ concerning my topic and that was a good
support to show evidence of the problem in UTL Jinja branch
The research methodology adopted both qualitative and quantitive research design based on
semi-structured questionnaires to gain an in-depth understanding of human resource policies
and performances. A population study of 70employees and a sample size of 59 respondents
were used. Purposive sampling and Stratified sampling methods were adopted for the study.
Data was collected from both primary with the help of questionnaires designed using linkert
scales and secondary data got from textbooks, internet, journals and newspaper articles and
the company’s handbook.
Data was anlysed using SPSS and from the findings, there exists a strong positive impact
between human resource policies and organisational performance. This implies that the
effectiveness of human resource policies leads to higher improvement of organizational
performance in UTL Jinja branch.
In the recommendation, Uganda Telecom should employ other policies and put them in to
consideration and show their employees how to conduct themselves to be beneficial to the
company. In addition to this, it should also put into practices what the policies are about so
that they can achieve the company’s targeted goals. The above measures if taken into
consideration will strengthen the effectiveness of human resource policies towards achieving
the set objectives and enhance better performance
