dc.description.abstractThe study investigated the relationship between extrinsic factors and job satisfaction at Energo projekt in Wakiso District. The study was driven by the fact that, extrinsic factors which include remuneration, job security and working conditions induce job satisfaction which requires empirical assessment to investigate most significant predictor to job satisfaction for the success of a projekt. Meagre resource requires proper allocation as the study identified the most significant extrinsic factors to relate with job satisfaction. The study was guided by three objectives which included; examining the relationship between remuneration and job satisfaction, to investigate the relationship between working conditions and job satisfaction and to determine the relationship between job security and job satisfaction. The study adopted a cross-sectional triangulated design with quantitative and qualitative approach and unit of analysis were employees at Energo projekt in Wakiso District. Primary data was collected from 4 respondents using interview guide and 83 respondents using questionnaire survey anchored on Likert scaled range. Quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS to generate descriptive, correlation and regression empirical analysis while qualitative was analyzed using Atlas. ti to generate child notes. The results from descriptive statistics indicate that the respondents agreed with mean value of 4 on job satisfaction and mean value 3.8 on implementation of extrinsic factors. The correlations indicate that extrinsic factors include remuneration (β=0.478, Sig. 0.001), job security (β=0.268, Sig. 0.014) and working conditions (β=0.229, Sig. 0.037) have statistic significant positive relationship on job satisfaction. In addition, finding from the regressions analysis establishes that it is only remuneration with coefficient beta 0.274 significantly predicts job satisfaction at 95% level. Extrinsic factors explain 29.8% variation on job satisfaction. The study concluded that extrinsic factors include remuneration, job security and working conditions has positive significance relationship on job satisfaction, thus require emphasis by the management of construction companies. From regression, emphasize should be on effective remuneration of staff to enhance job satisfaction. The study recommends that the managers, directors should remunerate staff, guarantee job security and conducive working conditions with a focus on remuneration of employees to induce job satisfaction in the Energo projekten_US
