<description>A web-based platform for skilled job seekers; Case study: Kaizen Uganda limited
Bernard, Ssekasanvu
The landscape of talent acquisition and recruitment is evolving rapidly, driven by&#13;
advancements in digital technologies. Traditional methods often fail to efficiently match&#13;
skilled job seekers with suitable opportunities, leading to inefficiencies and biases. This study&#13;
addresses these challenges by proposing the development and evaluation of a web-based&#13;
platform tailored for skilled job seekers.&#13;
This platform aims to streamline the recruitment process through data-driven algorithms and&#13;
user-friendly interfaces, enhancing the alignment between job seekers’ skills and employers’&#13;
requirements. By leveraging technology such as artificial intelligence and machine learning,&#13;
the platform seeks to improve job matching accuracy, reduce biases in recruitment, and&#13;
promote inclusivity.&#13;
The research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating qualitative insights from&#13;
stakeholders and quantitative metrics to assess usability, effectiveness, and user satisfaction.&#13;
Key findings highlight the platform's potential to transform recruitment dynamics, offering&#13;
practical recommendations for stakeholders in academia, industry, and policy.&#13;
Ultimately, this study contributes to advancing more effective and equitable talent acquisition&#13;
practices in the digital era, with implications for enhancing workforce diversity, economic&#13;
productivity, and job market dynamics.

<title>Web based sales management: Case study: Lornah computer training centre</title>
<link>http://dissertations.umu.ac.ug/xmlui/handle/123456789/1681</link>
<description>Web based sales management: Case study: Lornah computer training centre
Mathias, Wandeba  Joel
The word "sales" means the exchange of goods or services for money and an effective sales&#13;
management system is important for the success of any business. The main goal of sales&#13;
management is to streamline the sales process and increase profitability.&#13;
This project focuses on developing a Web-Based Sales Management System (WBSMS) for&#13;
small to medium-sized enterprises using a Lornah Computer Training Centre (LCTC) as the&#13;
case study. The study examined the challenges faced by sales managers in the current sales&#13;
process. It emphasizes how it can use Information Technology to manage their sales records&#13;
and processes efficiently.&#13;
This study provides insights into how best LCTC can handle its sales activities. Many&#13;
traditional sales management systems do not meet the dynamic needs of businesses, leading to&#13;
inefficiencies and lost opportunities. Security, data integrity, and ease of use are significant&#13;
concerns for web-based sales systems, thus attracting considerable research interest in recent&#13;
years.&#13;
Currently, businesses relying on traditional sales processes encounter issues such as data entry&#13;
errors, lack of real-time updates, and difficulty in tracking sales performance. This system was&#13;
developed using HTML, PHP, and JavaScript for the front-end and back-end respectively, with&#13;
MySQL as the database management system (DBMS). The development process involved&#13;
designing the system architecture, user interfaces, and database schema.&#13;
At the end of the project, a Web-Based Sales Management System for Lornah Computer&#13;
Training Centre was developed. This system aims to provide a reliable, secure, and userfriendly&#13;
platform to manage sales operations hence ensuring improved efficiency for managers.

<title>Online House Rental Management System; Case study: Nsambya estates</title>
<link>http://dissertations.umu.ac.ug/xmlui/handle/123456789/1680</link>
<description>Online House Rental Management System; Case study: Nsambya estates
Andrew, Mutebi
This research was based at improving bookings and minimizing the cost. One of the problems&#13;
cited at the hotel is that the hotel used to advertise their services on posters and on streets. For this&#13;
case, the main purpose of the study was to develop an online rental house management system for&#13;
the rental to minimize these problems. The main method used was the RAD from SSADM where&#13;
the functional modules are developed in parallel as prototypes and are integrated to make the&#13;
complete product for faster product delivery. Since there is no detailed preplanning, it makes it&#13;
easier to incorporate the changes within the development process. The major tools that were used&#13;
in the implementation an online rental house management system are; MySQL database server,&#13;
Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP), Hypertext markup language (HTML), Cascading style sheets&#13;
(CSS) and JavaScript. As well as collecting the relevant data through interviews, questionnaires,&#13;
observations Therefore an online rental house management system was developed to solve the&#13;
problems that the rental is facing due to use of manual system in the way that the system enables&#13;
the rental to handle booking activities online and meet the satisfaction of their customers.

<description>Mobile-based blood bank and donor management system; Case study: Kaboyo health centre III
Jovia, Nassaazi
The purpose of this study was to develop a mobile-based blood bank and donor management system and&#13;
the main aim of the project is to save lives of the people by providing blood. The system is developed&#13;
using android so as to bring together donors and those in need of blood in an emergency. The donors as&#13;
those in need of blood have to register themselves by providing their basic details in the mobile&#13;
application. When there is a need for blood, the person should raise a request through the mobile&#13;
application that is visible to all donors. After the request a notification is sent to all donors and the donor&#13;
can accept or reject the request. This application reduces the time that would have been used in searching&#13;
for the required blood through the blood banks and hospitals.
